The Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM Camera Lens is designed to produce exceptionally high resolution and sharpness by correcting a wide range of spherical and chromatic aberrations. A bright f/2.8 fixed maximum aperture favors working in low-light circumstances and gives you more control over the depth of focus. Nano AR Coating was used to eliminate surface reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color reproduction in low-light environments. When using a short depth of focus method, the rounded 11-blade diaphragm adds to a beautiful bokeh effect. The optical design has two XA (extreme aspherical) elements and three ordinary aspherical elements for effective correction of astigmatism, field curvature, coma, distortion, and other spherical aberrations for a high degree of sharpness and precise depiction. Sony FE 16-35mm design includes two ED elements, which serve to decrease chromatic aberrations and color fringing for greater clarity and color neutrality. Two Direct Drive SSM (DDSSM) autofocus groups on FE 16-35mm provide rapid, silent, and precise focusing performance that is suited for both stills and video applications. Its Floating focusing mechanism separates the focus group into two independently controlled groups, allowing for dependably clear optical performance across the zoom and focus ranges. The focus hold button and AF/MF switch provide direct tactile control over focus settings. The dust and moisture-sealed design improves working conditions in inclement weather, and rubberized control rings improve handling in colder temperatures.
